May 9, 2006: The Mount Boucherie Multiplex will now be known as Royal Lepage Place.
|
It will now officially be known as Royal LePage Place thanks to an agreement between Royal LePage Kelowna and the Regional District of Central Okanagan. The new partnership will see Royal LePage serve as the title sponsor of the new 1,520 seat arena. Construction is well underway on the facility, located at Mount Boucherie Community Centre on the Westside.
With a targeted opening for this fall, Royal LePage Place will be home to the new Westside Warriors franchise in the BCHL, and several long standing community user groups. The facility is also expected to host events ranging from concerts to tradeshows, as well as cultural and community functions including convocation ceremonies for graduates of near-by Mount Boucherie Secondary School.
The ten-year, $400,000 sponsorship agreement for Royal LePage Place will run through to July 31, 2016.

It is anticipated that the name and logo markings for the venue's signs, ice surface, and various other advertising will be completed and installed before the grand opening this fall.
"The Mt Boucherie Expansion Society is very pleased to have Royal LePage join with us on this community project. Their support will help ensure key amenities are in-place at opening and that the facility will be ready for business from day one, “said Society President Rusty Ensign.
In addition to $500,000 in fundraising for capital costs, the Society has committed to raise funds for various Multiplex amenities, such as theatre-style arena seating, a centre ice clock, Ice Deck dry floor for non-ice events, a sound system and concession equipment.

Their corporate leadership stands as an exemplary example within the community.”
Added Warriors President Gary Gelinas “We are very pleased to see Royal LePage, as a community-minded organization, join with the Society, RDCO and the Warriors to help make the new facility a top-rated home in the BCHL.”
Royal LePage is the largest realtor organization in the Central Okanagan and the #1 Real Estate Company on the Westside. Local partners Francis Braam and Wade Webb are proud to be involved in such a great community project.
